ImmunoCAP Allergen Components: Highly refined specific allergen component
testing
Through ImmunoCAP Allergen Components, Phadia can now help specialists assess a patient’s specific
IgE antibodies to various allergen components to further understand the risk for immediate hypersensitivity reactions.
The current generation of ImmunoCAP Specific IgE blood tests
offered by Phadia is unmatched in its accuracy and reliability
for the detection and quantitation of IgE antibodies to complex
food and inhalant allergens. The utilization of this new field
of allergen components provides the next generation of information
to help you characterize a given patient’s
degree of risk for serious clinical allergic reactions.
ImmunoCAP ISAC: A broad snapshot for initial clinical
assessment
The most advanced allergy assay technology—and one of the most
exciting—is the ImmunoCAP ISAC, a multiarray technology
package designed for the assessment of patients in the initial
allergist office workup. Using a small blood sample produces
semi-quantitative results for 103 allergen components—both
recombinant and highly purified—representing a wide spectrum
of allergens. This profile will produce unique patterns for
every patient. This novel technology has been widely available
in Europe, and is now offered in the US through PiRL.
